The Groundspeed Bluegrass Band began their journey 10 years ago. They got their name from a very popular Flatt & Scruggs tune that is still popular today. Over the years, a few of the members have changed but the strong basics of harmony vocals combined with fast instrumentals keeps this band true to the bluegrass scene. Based out of Arlington Heights, Illinois, this band has a strong sense of purpose and combines a bluesy overtone with hard driving tempos. They play a variety of styles from Flatt and Scruggs and Jimmy Martin to more recent bands like Alison Krauss and Blue Highway. Groundspeed has shared the bill with Third Tyme Out, JD Crowe, Special Concensus and The Chapmans.
